We Are Looking For Certain Items For Our Food Pantry! We have had an increase in requests for food from our food pantry. In trying to provide this service, we found that we are in need of items that will allow us to prepare boxes that contain meals versus putting an odd assortment of canned goods in the bag. Here are some items we could use in the pantry: Tuna and Tuna Helper; Spam and Ramen Noodles; any other kind of canned meat; Soups and crackers; peanut butter and jelly; powdered milk and cereal; Canned spaghetti; chili; Hamburger Helper We have lots of canned veggies at this point. Don’t forget to check the expiration dates before donating the food.
The Christian Service Commission would like to extend an invitation to all parish members to join us. We only have 3 to 4 meetings a year and even though we have projects going on all the time, we have very little time that we individually have to do things. Won’t you please think of joining us. Any questions please call Jennifer Perron 734-427-9350. Thank you. Funeral Luncheons The Christian Service Commission is in need of your help. When a parish member dies, it is important for Divine Savior to support the family both spiritually and emotionally. On a periodic basis, volunteers from our parish organize, prepare food, and serve a funeral luncheon, which lifts a great burden from the family. For several years now the same people have been called upon to help make a dish and serve for these luncheons, and while they do not complain it is hard for some to continue to do so. At the present time we are having a campaign to sign up additional volunteers, people who are presently on the list need not sign again unless you have a new phone number. The more volunteers we have the less you will be called upon, so would you please consider giving of yourself for this worthy cause? There are sign up sheets on the bulletin board for the different dishes we need and the volunteer sheet. Food Drive The Christian Service Commission is sponsoring an ongoing food drive. Please place non perishable food items in the basket under the bulletin board next to the table that has a sign that reads: Help Us Help Others-Donations Please.
